Jon Jones facing spell on sidelines after damaging right arm against Vitor Belfort

Jon Jones admits that he could have suffered nerve damage during his fight against Vitor Belfort and could be facing a prolonged period out injured.

UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones looks likely to face a prolonged spell on the injury list after damaging his right arm at UFC 152.

Jones won by submission against Brazilian Vitor Belfort to retain his title, but 'Bones' revealed that he may have suffered nerve damage in the bout.

He told reporters at the post-fight press conference: "We haven't got it scanned yet but it looks like it could be nerve damage.

"Jones suffered the injury after getting trapped in an armbar by Belfort in the fight's early stages."

Victory for the New Yorker was his fourth title defence and improved the 25-year-old's record to 18-1.
