Germany complete luge clean sweep after team relay gold

Germany complete a clean sweep of gold medals in the luge at the Sochi Winter Olympics after the relay team secures first place at the Sanki Sliding Centre.

Germany have completed a clean sweep of gold medals in the luge events at the Sochi Winter Olympics after the relay team secured first place today at the Sanki Sliding Centre.

The four-piece, consisting of Natalie Geisenberger, Felix Loch, Tobias Wendl and Tobias Arlt, came first in today's luge team relay event with a time of 2:45.649, a whole second ahead of their nearest competitors, the Russian Federation, who clocked up a time of 2:46.679.

The four members of the German luge team have already won gold medals at the Sochi Games in each of the other luge events, Geisenberger coming first in the women's competition, Loch winning the men's event and Wendl and Arlt securing the gold in the doubles competition.
