Japanese figure skater Yuzuru Hanyu has said that it felt "great" to be competing with Evgeni Plushenko in the men's team short program at the 2014 Winter Olympics.
The 19-year-old finished Thursday's round ahead of his Russian opponent with 97.98 points in Sochi.
"Plushenko, to me, is a hero and it felt great just to take to the same ice as him," BBC Sport quotes the teenager as saying.
Hanyu finished third at the 2012 World Figure Skating Championships.
