David Murdoch: "It's still in our hands"

David Murdoch reiterates that Team GB's men's curling team still have their qualification prospects in their own hands.

Great Britain's men's curling team skip David Murdoch has reiterated that qualifying for the quarter-final stage is "still in our hands".

Team GB lost 7-6 to Norway earlier today, missing out on the chance to progress into the next round of the 2014 Sochi Games.

Murdoch and his men face China next, knowing that anything less than victory will see them relying on results elsewhere.

"I had a couple of bad ones out there," the 35-year-old told BBC Sport following the loss. "We had them on the ropes a little bit a few times and never really took our chances. We could have been a bit more clinical and been in front a lot earlier.

"We showed that we are playing some good stuff in our first five and, certainly our last five, we played some decent stuff as well. We are going to have to come out tough. It seems to be like that for me at the Olympics, always leaving it to the hardest way possible.

"It is still in our hands. We can't let that defeat us too much. Obviously they are playing well but so are we and we have only lost a couple of games by a few inches and we need to take the positives from that."

Norway are back in action this evening, looking to improve on their current record of four wins and three defeats so far.
