Great Britain snowboarders Jamie Nicholls and Billy Morgan have said that they are 'happy' to have made the final and secure a top-ten finish.
Nicholls secured his place in the final two days ago, his fourth-place finish in qualifying allowing him to bypass the semis, while Morgan finished first in his semi-final to make it two Team GB snowboarders in the running for the medals.
The sixth-placed Nicholls told BBC Sport: "I'm really happy that we both made the final and got a top 10 finish. It's weird because I don't usually fall off the rails, but I'm really proud. The level was so high. If we have the facilities in the UK then maybe we'll see some Brits on the podium in the next one."
Morgan, who finished in tenth place, said: "I just thought go big or go home and it's just didn't work for me. Hopefully I'll get a chance again in four years time."
Team USA snowboarder Sage Kotsenburg secured the first gold medal of the Sochi Winter Olympics with his first run score of 93.50, while second-placed Staale Sandbech and third-placed Mark McMorris secured runner-up medals for Norway and Canada respectively.
