United States snowboarder Sage Kotsenburg describes his slopestyle gold medal win at the Sochi Winter Olympics as "the craziest thing" that has ever happened to him.

United States snowboarder Sage Kotsenburg has described his slopestyle gold medal win at the Sochi Winter Olympics as "the craziest thing" that has ever happened to him.

The Idaho-born 20-year-old secured the points needed to finish in pole position after his first run, achieving a score of 93.50.

Kotsenburg told BBC Sport: "I'm really excited. It feels awesome. I don't know what to call it. I have no idea what's actually going on. This is the craziest thing that ever happened."

Great Britain snowboarders Jamie Nicholls and Billy Morgan achieved sixth place and tenth place respectively at the Rosa Khutor alpine resort.
