Daniel Bryan was officially stripped of the WWE World Heavyweight Championship on Monday's RAW.
The injured grappler has been sidelined since undergoing minor neck surgery in May, just over a month after he won the title in a triple threat match at WrestleMania XXX.
It was hoped that Bryan would be fit to return and defend the gold at the Money in the Bank pay-per-view on June 29, but WWE doctors have not cleared him to compete and no risk will be taken on his health.
Triple H and Stephanie McMahon announced in RAW's opening segment in Minneapolis, Minnesota, during which the two major belts were hanging above the ring, that the championship had been vacated.
It will now be up for grabs in the main event of Money in the Bank, with the titles the prize on offer to the winner of the multiple-man ladder match, rather than a contract for a future shot at the gold.
