Sports Mole previews night one of WWE WrestleMania 40, including the complete card and predictions for how each match could play out as The Rock returns after eight years.

Every year when WWE WrestleMania rolls around the excitement amongst the WWE Universe is palpable, and heading into WWE WrestleMania 40 is no different.

With a stacked two-night event set to take place this coming Saturday and Sunday the entire wrestling world will have its eyes on Philadelphia to witness history unfold.

With title matches, returning legends, stipulation bouts, and grudge matches each card has something for every fan, no matter their tastes.

There will be twists, turns, and plenty of surprises, with two shows worth of well-built encounters set to take place.

Here, Sports Mole take a match-by-match look at WrestleMania Saturday, with the 'biggest tag team match of all time' set to headline night one.

Rhea Ripley (c) vs. Becky Lynch (WWE Women's Championship match)

One of the biggest matches on the card this year will see Rhea Ripley defend her title against Becky Lynch.

It is a dream match for fans, and WWE has done an excellent job of heating both women up to ensure that the stadium will reach a fever pitch when they finally collide.

Lynch won the Elimination Chamber match to become the number one contender, but this has become personal between the two in recent weeks.

While Lynch's main aim is to prove that she still has 'it', and is capable of competing at the highest level, Ripley's decision to bring up Lynch's daughter has caused personal animosity that will no doubt spill over into an intense, physical match.

Prediction: Becky Lynch to win

Lynch has been steadily building herself back up throughout the past year, and at this point, it would be refreshing to see her back as a champion.

It would give Ripley the chance to add another layer to her character which would also benefit the overall women's division, allowing this storyline to continue in the process.

Jimmy Uso vs. Jey Uso

Sibling rivalry is an easy story to tell in the world of WWE, and that is exactly what is going on in this match.

The longest-reigning tag team champions in WWE history headlined WWE WrestleMania alongside each other last year, but this time around they will be enemies.

Jimmy Uso's decision to return to The Bloodline sparked the split between them and, even though they are on separate brands, they have not been able to stay apart.

Jey Uso has been screwed out of several title matches by his brother, and now he has the chance for revenge on the Grandest Stage Of Them All.

It is a match that will no doubt have a personal edge to it, particularly since The Bloodline members are notorious for cheating.

Prediction: Jey Uso to win

Jey Uso has been pushed more as a singles competitor since they split, and it appears that WWE has bigger plans with him as a solo act in the long-term future, so giving him a victory here would be more beneficial to the company.

Bianca Belair, Jade Cargill, & Naomi vs. Asuka, Kairi Sane, & Dakota Kai

Damage CTRL will be in full force on night one of WWE WrestleMania as the women's tag team champions will team up with Dakota Kai against a trio of top babyfaces.

Bianca Belair, Naomi, and the newly-signed Jade Cargill have joined forces in a bid to put a stop to Damage CTRL's reign of terror in the women's division, but whether they can co-exist as a team remains to be seen.

Prediction: Belair, Cargill, & Naomi to win

Belair is undefeated at WWE WrestleMania throughout her career, and it seems likely that that run will continue here.

Considering Naomi has only just returned to the company, and this will be Cargill's second-ever WWE match, they should be given the win, which could potentially set up a title match down the line.

Rey Mysterio & Dragon Lee vs. Dominik Mysterio & Santos Escobar

The issues between Rey Mysterio and Santos Escobar have been boiling for months at this point, ever since the latter decided to turn on his former mentor.

Escobar split from the LWO, left the WWE Hall Of Famer injured, and went on to create his faction in a bid to prove he is the number one luchador wrestler in the company.

Dominik Mysterio recently got involved in the storyline by once again trying to cause problems for his father. He has joined forces with Escobar with the common goal of making life miserable for the veteran wrestler, but with the entire LWO against them, it could prove to be a tough task.

Prediction: Mysterio & Lee to win

The issues between the LWO and Escobar will likely be drawing to a close at this show due to how long they have been going on.

Therefore, now would be the right time to provide the babyface victory that allows Mysterio to continue his legacy while Lee begins to build his with a big moment.

Finn Balor & Damian Priest vs. DIY vs. Awesome Truth vs. New Catch Republic vs. A-Town Down Under vs. The New Day (c) (Six-Pack Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship ladder match)

When it comes to the men's tag team division, WWE has opted not to craft one specific heated rivalry for WWE WrestleMania 40, but instead has thrown six teams together in a ladder match that promises to be complete chaos.

With 12 men involved in this one, there are a lot of moving parts, and there is sure to be no shortage of insane moments that have the potential to go viral.

The odds are certainly against the champions being able to retain considering how many teams are involved, but it has been Awesome Truth that has caused them the most problems lately.

R-Truth was technically part of The Judgment Day for a brief period, but they have far more than just him to worry about.

Prediction: Awesome Truth & A-Town Down Under

WWE interestingly revealed that both the WWE Raw and WWE SmackDown Tag Team Championships are available to be won in this one.

While the titles have been kept together in recent times, there is an opportunity to split them here by having two teams claim a different set each, benefitting the division on the whole, so having one team from each brand win makes sense.

Gunther (c) vs. Sami Zayn (Intercontinental Championship match)

Sami Zayn has been on a personal journey to become a champion ever since he returned at the Royal Rumble.

While he has fallen short in some moments, he eventually won a gauntlet match to earn a shot against Gunther this weekend, in what promises to be one of the most entertaining singles matches of the entire two-night event.

Gunther is the longest-reigning intercontinental champion in history, and taking him down would create a huge moment considering he has been an unstoppable force since winning the title in June 2022, defeating all manner of opponents in a dominant fashion.

Zayn will be the latest to step up, and Chad Gable has even coached him to try to help him reach his goal, but it remains to be seen if that will be enough.

Prediction: Sami Zayn to win

Gunther has already made history with this title run, therefore it is now just about how it ends; WrestleMania 40 is the perfect place to do that as it is when the lights are the brightest.

Zayn is also the ideal man to achieve it as he is beloved by the fans and has the right underdog character to topple Gunther.

The Rock & Roman Reigns vs. Cody Rhodes & Seth Rollins

The main event of the Saturday night promises to be one of the biggest tag team matches in history, simply due to the star power involved.

The Rock is competing in his first match since 2016, teaming with his family member and undisputed WWE universal champion, Roman Reigns.

They are representing The Bloodline, and after believing they were disrespected by their opponents they will look to stop at nothing to remind them who the biggest stars in the industry are.

This match is certainly personal, with The Rock promising to make Cody Rhodes bleed - a vow he has already fulfilled once in the buildup to WrestleMania - while Reigns and Seth Rollins have a huge amount of history from their days in The Shield.

It will also play a factor in the following night because a win for Reigns and Rock would mean the main event for night two is a Bloodline Rules match, which is essentially anything goes.

That would of course stack the deck against Rhodes, but the opposite result would ensure the American Nightmare gets a clean singles match.

Prediction: Rock & Reigns to win

WWE will want to have as many people talking about the Sunday night as possible coming out of Saturday, and The Bloodline winning here is the best way to achieve that.

It creates the most drama possible for the title match, which is exactly what the company will aim for.
