Ryan Bertrand angry with Senegal's tough tactics

Chelsea defender Ryan Bertrand admits that he is relieved to have escaped injury in Great Britain's opening game against Senegal.

Ryan Bertrand had admitted that he was worried about sustaining a serious injury during Great Britain's Olympic opener against Senegal.

Bertrand was one of the lucky players to escape with just cuts and bruises from the physical 1-1 draw at Old Trafford on Thursday.

Both Joe Allen and Craig Bellamy were forced off during the match with injuries.

Chelsea defender Bertrand told The Sun: "There were some horrific challenges. I was fearing for my safety.

"I have cuts on my shoulder and I am sure Bellamy is feeling down.

"It was lucky Neil Taylor jumped for one tackle, if he hadn't he could have been really hurt."

Bertrand may feature in Sunday's must-win match against the United Arab Emirates at Wembley Stadium.
