Chelsea head coach Maurizio Sarri dismisses suggestions that he has held talks over a potential switch to Roma.

Chelsea head coach Maurizio Sarri has rejected claims that he has held talks with Roma about becoming their new manager next season.

Sarri is fighting to keep his job at Stamford Bridge after a run of five defeats from 11 matches in all competitions, and it was suggested on Thursday that the Italian had held a meeting with Roma official Franco Baldini.

However, the 60-year-old has insisted that no such talks took place, with Baldini said to currently be in South Africa.

Sarri told BT Sport: "I have a contract with Chelsea for the next two seasons so it is impossible to have another contract.

"I read in an Italian newspaper something about a meeting with Franco Baldini but I think for the moment Franco is in South Africa, so it is very difficult."

Sarri improved his chances of remaining with the West Londoners on Thursday night as his side progressed through to the last 16 of the Europa League with a 3-0 victory over Malmo.
