Roque Santa Cruz close to Cruz Azul move

Malaga forward Roque Santa Cruz claims that he is close to joining Cruz Azul.

Roque Santa Cruz has revealed that he is close to joining Mexican outfit Cruz Azul.

The 33-year-old, who is currently contracted to Malaga, arrived in Mexico earlier this afternoon, where he told reporters that "negotiation points are well advanced" between the two parties.

It is understood that the deal will officially be completed on Wednesday, with the experienced forward signing a two-year contract with the Club World Cup semi-finalists.

Santa Cruz has played for the likes of Bayern Munich and Manchester City during an illustrious career.
