Benfica forward Joao Felix plays down Manchester United move

Benfica forward Joao Felix addresses rumours that he could join Manchester United this summer, insisting that he is happy at the Portuguese club.

Benfica forward Joao Felix has addressed rumours that he could join Manchester United this summer, insisting that he is happy at the Portuguese club.

The 19-year-old has played an integral role in manager Bruno Lage's attacking line this season, netting 12 times and assisting six in all competitions.

Despite having a reported €120m (£103m) release clause, United appear to be maintaining an interest in the youngster, but Felix has played down a move to the 13-time Premier League champions.

"My dream has always been to play for the big teams and in the big competitions," Felix told reporters.

"But I'm here and I'm very happy with Benfica, which, like those teams, is also a big one in Europe."

When asked if his release clause is a 'crazy' figure, the attacker replied: "Maybe, yes. But I do not understand the market or values, these are issues of representatives and presidents. I just play."

Felix also played for the academies of Porto and Padroense before joining Benfica in 2016.
