Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is reportedly angry with Real Madrid boss Zinedine Zidane over his public attempts to lure Paul Pogba away from the club.

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is reportedly angry with Real Madrid counterpart Zinedine Zidane over what he believes are deliberate tactics to unsettle Paul Pogba.

The 26-year-old's future remains shrouded in uncertainty with just over 24 hours remaining of the summer transfer window, with Madrid still keen to take him to the Bernabeu this summer.

Spanish clubs have until September 2 to sign players, but United are understood to have told them that there is no chance of a deal after the English deadline on Thursday.

The Red Devils have been linked with a £50m move for Christian Eriksen as a potential Pogba replacement, although their preference is still to keep the World Cup-winning France international at Old Trafford.

The Evening Standard reports that United are still uncertain as to whether Pogba will be at the club beyond Thursday's 5pm deadline and are upset with Zidane's public attempts to lure him away.

Zidane has made no secret of his desire to bring Pogba to the club, while the player himself has also publicly suggested that he wants to leave this summer.

United are refusing to budge on their £150m asking price, though, and will not sanction an exit unless they are able to bring in a replacement beforehand.

In addition to Eriksen, the 20-time champions of England have also been linked with Sporting Lisbon's Bruno Fernandes and Lazio midfielder Sergej Milinkovic-Savic.
