A report claims that Amanda Staveley's PCP Capital Partners company will back Rafael Benitez with £30m in January, ahead of completing a takeover of Newcastle United.

Newcastle United manager Rafael Benitez has reportedly been given a budget of £30m to bolster his squad during next month's transfer window.

A complete takeover of the Magpies is unlikely to be finalised until February, leaving Benitez fearful that he would have to make do with his current crop until the summer.

According to The Sun, however, Amanda Staveley is so confident of getting a deal over the line that her PCP Capital Partners company will give the Toon boss sufficient backing for the second half of the season.

Manchester United full-back Luke Shaw and Liverpool striker Danny Ings are said to be two of the players Newcastle will look to target in the New Year.

United owner Mike Ashley, who has been at the St James' Park helm for the past decade, is expected to shake hands on a £300m takeover bid in the coming days.
