The New England Patriots have confirmed that they have signed second-round Draft pick Jimmy Garoppolo.
The quarterback was selected with the 62nd overall pick by the Patriots out of the Eastern Illinois Panthers, the highest pick they have used on a signal caller since Tom Brady became their starter in 2001.
Garoppolo has signed a four-year deal worth a reported $3.3m (£1.9m), which will keep him at the club until the end of the 2017 season.
The 22-year-old threw for 5,050 yards and 53 touchdowns for the Panthers in the 2013 season.
