A strong start to the game ensured that the Sacramento Kings held on for a 110-107 win over the Minnesota Timberwolves at the Target Center in the NBA.
Rudy Gay and DeMarcus Cousins hit their strike quickly as the visitors pulled away early on, building an eight-point lead by the end of the first quarter.
Andrew Wiggins led the Timberwolves fightback though, helping the hosts wipe out a 13-point deficit heading into the final 12 minutes.
However, Darren Collison and Derrick Williams both stepped up after Gay and Cousins fouled out in the fourth quarter, with the latter making a crucial three-pointer to keep the Kings ahead.
Troy Daniels had a shot that would have taken the game to overtime blocked at the buzzer, while Gorgui Dieng missed a couple of late free throws, leaving Minnesota to slip to their 10th straight defeat.
