WBC super-bantamweight champion Leo Santa Cruz has revealed that he could face Carl Frampton in Belfast in July.
Frampton became mandatory challenger for the WBC strap with a second-round stoppage of Hugo Cazares earlier this month, and despite the belief that their anticipated bout would take place in the United States, Santa Cruz has indicated that he would be prepared to travel to Northern Ireland.
The 25-year-old is quoted by the Belfast Telegraph as saying: "I will fight Frampton in Belfast.
"He is my number one choice and I want to defend my title in July. I will get the biggest purse of my career."
The Mexican is unbeaten in 28 professional encounters, while Frampton has not lost in 18 bouts.
