Swansea Under-21s beat Arsenal Under-21s

Swansea City's Under-21 team secure a spot in the playoffs of the Premier League Division 2 following a 3-1 victory over Arsenal's Under-21 side.

Swansea City's Under-21 team have secured a spot in the playoffs of the Premier League Division 2 following a 3-1 victory over Arsenal's Under-21 side on Thursday afternoon.

The success for Swansea, which was their fourth league victory in a row, has taken them onto 36 points in the table, just four points behind title-chasing Arsenal, who remain second behind Derby County.

It took just 16 minutes for the home side to take the lead, with Adam King heading an Adnan Maric cross into the back of the net in front of watching first-team boss Francesco Guidolin.

The Welsh outfit then had their second 10 minutes before the break when Kenji Gorre turned on the edge of the box before curling an unstoppable effort into the back of the net.

Arsenal had one back in the 77th minute when Serge Gnabry registered from inside the box, but Alex Bray put the result beyond doubt when he added a third for Swansea just three minutes later.

Arsenal's team once again included Jack Wilshere, while Tomas Rosicky also featured for the London club.
