Bernardo Silva scores winner as AS Monaco beat Reims

Bernardo Silva scores the only goal of the game as Monaco defeat Reims in Ligue 1.

AS Monaco have defeated Reims 1-0 in Ligue 1.

Bernardo Silva headed in from Nabil Dirar's cross to score his 12th goal for Monaco.

Nicolas De Preville then missed the target before Frederic Bulot's shot was saved in a rare foray forward for Reims.

Guido Carrillo came inches away from doubling the lead when his header hit the left post.

Dirar and Mario Pasalic both missed the target before the break in a dominant first-half performance from Monaco.

Pasalic again struck over the bar shortly after the restart, before Dirar's shot was saved.

Reims comeback became even tougher in the 69th minute when Antoine Devaux picked up his second yellow card, but that did not stop Gaetan Charbonnier from testing Danijel Subasic from 14 yards.

Dirar had another shot saved in the closing stages as Johny Placide kept the score down to just one.
