Lionel Messi scores in his 13th straight La Liga match as Barcelona open up a 2-0 half-time lead against Getafe.

Barcelona look on course to maintain their unbeaten home record in La Liga this season after a dominant first half against Getafe at Camp Nou.

It didn't take long for the league leaders to go ahead as Alexis Sanchez finished after a pinpoint through-ball from Andres Iniesta.

The lead was doubled before the 15-minute mark as Iniesta found Thiago Alcantara and he in turn laid to Lionel Messi to stroke home. The Argentinian has now scored in 13 consecutive league games.

Messi came within inches of adding his second and Barcelona's third in the 34th minute but his shot from in front of goal bounced back off the post.

Three points for the Catalan club will see them move 12 points clear at La Liga's summit.
