How Barcelona could line up against Valencia

Sports Mole looks at how Barcelona could line up in Saturday's La Liga clash with Valencia.

Barcelona will be looking to move three points clear at the top of La Liga when they travel to the Mestalla to face Valencia on Saturday afternoon.

Quique Setien's first match in charge of the Catalan giants ended in a 1-0 win over Granada last weekend, while they recorded a 2-1 victory over Ibiza in the Copa del Rey on Wednesday night.

The Spanish champions will now switch their attention back to the league and would open up a three-point advantage at the summit with a win as second-placed Real Madrid are not in action until Sunday night.

Here, Sports Mole looks at how the visitors could line up at the Mestalla.

Barca will again be without the services of key forwards Luis Suarez and Ousmane Dembele through knee and hamstring injuries respectively, while number two goalkeeper Neto is out with an ankle sprain.

Serien has favoured a fluid 3-5-2 formation in his two matches at the helm thus far, and it seems likely that will again be the case this weekend.

The likes of Lionel Messi, Sergio Busquets and Gerard Pique were not involved against Ibiza but will return at the Mestalla, while there should also be a spot in midfield for Frenkie de Jong, who missed out against Granada last weekend due to suspension.

A back three could include both Samuel Umtiti and Clement Lenglet, while Sergi Roberto should get the nod over Nelson Semedo on the right with Jordi Alba lining up on the opposite side.

Antoine Griezmann scored a brace in Wednesday's Copa del Rey clash and is likely to start alongside Messi in attack, meaning that Ansu Fati might have to accept a spot on the bench.
