Barnsley are a goal up at half time in their game against Brighton & Hove Albion at Oakwell this evening.

A Jason Scotland strike has given Barnsley a 1-0 lead at half time in their game against Brighton & Hove Albion this evening.

Despite starting the night at the bottom of the Championship table, it was Barnsley who had the brighter start, Scotland seeing an early shot go just wide.

The Trinidadian striker broke the deadlock inside the opening 15 minutes, firing in a Chris O'Grady delivery from close range.

Scotland almost scored a second when Rory Delap picked him out with a high ball into the box, but Tomasz Kuszczak kept the strike out of the net.

Will Buckley looked threatening in front of goal for the visitors, but neither of his chances was on target, while Jose Ulloa was flagged offside as he pressed towards the Barnsley goal.
