Bournemouth will have the opportuntiy to set a new club record when they face Wolverhampton Wanderers in Wednesday's Premier League clash at Molineux.

Bournemouth will have the opportunity to equal a club record when they travel to Molineux for Wednesday's clash with Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Having taken 42 points from 33 matches, the Cherries are sitting in 13th position ahead of their midweek away game against a Wolves side managed by former Bournemouth boss Gary O'Neil.

The Cherries have experienced disappointment in their last two road trips, losing 2-1 to Luton Town earlier this month before falling to a 3-1 defeat in Sunday's meeting with Aston Villa.

Despite coming up short in those two matches, Bournemouth are still on the brink of equalling a club record for the most Premier League away wins in a single season.

Having won five league games on their travels this term, the Cherries need just one more win to match the tally of six away victories which was set in the club's first-ever Premier League campaign in 2015-16.

If they are unable to equal the club record on Wednesday, Bournemouth will have a couple more chances in their final two away games against Arsenal and Chelsea.

Bournemouth targeting another club record

Andoni Iraola's side are also looking to match and surpass another club record before the curtain comes down on the 2023-24 campaign.

The South-coast side require five points from their final five matches to beat their record points total of 46 set in the 2016-17 season.

Bournemouth's hopes of claiming all three points on Wednesday will be tempered by the fact that they have won just one of their seven Premier League meetings with Wolves (D2, L4).

However, that victory did take place in Bournemouth's most recent trip to Molineux in February 2023 when O'Neil was still in the Cherries dugout.

Solanke eyeing more history

Dominic Solanke has already made the campaign one to remember after scoring 18 top-flight goals to set a new club record for the most goals scored by a Bournemouth player in a single Premier League season.

With nine of those strikes taking place on the road, Solanke needs just one more goal to set the outright record for the most away goals scored by a Cherries player in a Premier League campaign.

Iraola has confirmed that he has no fresh injury concerns, but he is still expected to be without Ryan Fredericks, Marcus Tavernier, Luis Sinisterra, Chris Mepham and Tyler Adams.

French midfielder Romain Faivre is likely to miss a second straight game after picking up an injury in training last week.
