Half-Time Report: Andre Gray brace puts Burnley two ahead against Huddersfield Town

Andre Gray's first-half brace gives Burnley a two-goal advantage over Huddersfield Town at Turf Moor.

Andre Gray has struck his seventh and eighth goals of the Championship season to hand his team a two-goal advantage over Huddersfield Town at half time.

Gray was brought down in the box by Joel Lynch after 12 minutes, causing the referee to point to the spot.

He dusted himself down before stepping up and sidefooting home past on-loan Aston Villa keeper Jed Steer, for his seventh of the league campaign.

Huddersfield attempted to reply as Jason Davidson supplied Jamie Paterson who threaded a ball through for Ishmael Miller, but the forward blasted wide from inside the Burnley penalty area.

Scott Arfield found Sam Vokes in the Terriers' box midway through the opening period but his right-footed effort was straight at Steer.

Gray, who was released by Joey Barton's slide-rule pass, found Boyd who turned in the box but Steer was again equal to the effort.

The striker added to his and Burnley's tally just before the half, surging past Terriers captain Mark Hudson before firing past Steer at his near post.
