Burnley boss Sean Dyche says that he has never been distracted from his work at Turf Moor despite strong links to Everton earlier this season.

Burnley boss Sean Dyche has maintained that he never had his head turned by reports linking him with a move to Everton earlier this season.

Dyche had been regarded as one of the favourites to replace Ronald Koeman at Goodison Park before the Toffees eventually appointed former England manager Sam Allardyce.

Burnley host Everton on Saturday afternoon in Dyche's 250th game in charge, and the Clarets boss has suggested that his long-term focus remains with his current club.

At a press conference, the 46-year-old told reporters: "I was here, I said I was going to be here and I am still here. It was an outside story, we have had a few of them in the right way since I have been here.

"Saturday is my 250th game and I am still here, still working hard and I have still got the fire in my stomach to be successful here, to create an atmosphere and a culture and an environment that can be successful. That is my focus."

Dyche has recorded 97 wins and 73 draws in all competitions since arriving at Turf Moor in October 2012.
