Burnley to sign Anders Lindegaard?

Burnley are reportedly considering signing free agent Anders Lindegaard after the loss of Tom Heaton to injury.

Burnley are reportedly considering signing former Manchester United goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard following the loss of Tom Heaton to injury.

The 33-year-old is currently a free agent after being released by Preston North End over the summer, and according to The Sun, Burnley boss Sean Dyche views him as "the ideal stop-gap" in the wake of Heaton's injury.

The England stopper was forced off during his side's 1-0 win over Crystal Palace on Sunday after falling awkwardly and could now spend as much as 16 weeks on the sidelines.

Nick Pope is likely to become Dyche's new first choice between the posts, but Lindegaard is being considered as extra competition for Pope and third-choice Adam Legzdins.

Lindegaard spent five seasons with United, making 29 appearances in all competitions including 19 in the Premier League, before departing for West Bromwich Albion in 2015.
