Team News: Craig Gordon makes first competitive start in more than two years

Craig Gordon starts his first competitive game in more than two years in Celtic's Scottish Premiership opener against St Johnstone.

Celtic have included goalkeeper Craig Gordon in their starting lineup for their Scottish Premiership opener away at St Johnstone tonight.

It is the first time the 28-year-old has started a competitive game in more than two years.

There is also a place in the team for James Forrest, who has suffered a lengthy layoff, while new signings Jason Denayer and Jo Inge Berget have been named among the substitutes. Captain Charlie Mulgrew has not been included in the matchday squad, as he is serving a one-game suspension.

Following the departure of Stevie May to Sheffield Wednesday for £800,000, Steve MacLean and Michael O'Halloran will start upfront for the home side tonight.
