Charlton Athletic have ended a winless run spanning 13 games in emphatic fashion, defeating in-form Sheffield Wednesday by three goals to one at The Valley.
The Addicks took the lead in the 26th minute when Johann Berg Gudmundsson's corner was met by a bullet header from team captain Johnnie Jackson.
Gudmundsson was the provider again when they doubled their lead on the stroke of half time, the Iceland international swinging in a cross from the byline for Simon Makienok to poke home.
Charlton made it three in the 56th minute when Morgan Fox's low ball across the face of goal was smashed into the back of the net by Iranian international Reza Ghoochannejhad.
The Owls pulled a goal back in the 73rd minute following an error by Mouhamadou-Naby Sarr, who slipped to the ground to allow Fernando Forestieri clean through on goal, and the Italian tucked the ball home.
However, it was Charlton who controlled the latter stages to ensure that the visitors' unbeaten run of more than a dozen games came to an abrupt halt.
