Chelsea have reached the Europa League final thanks to a 5-2 aggregate victory over Basel.

A 3-1 win on the night at Stamford Bridge means that the Blues will face Benfica at the Amsterdam ArenA on May 15.

Basel took the lead on the night in first-half injury time when Mohamed Salah broke the offside trap before curling the ball past Petr Cech.

However, Chelsea hit back five minutes into the second half as Fernando Torres tapped in the rebound after Yann Sommer had saved Frank Lampard's initial effort.

The home side then went ahead three minutes later when Victor Moses showed persistence to calmly slot in from close range.

Their progress was sealed on the hour in exquisite style thanks to David Luiz's strike from 25 yards that found the top corner.

Basel nearly pulled a goal back through Fabian Frei with 20 minutes left to play, but his powerful drive came back off the post.
