Preview: China vs. Palestine - prediction, team news, lineups

Sports Mole previews Tuesday's friendly clash between China and Palestine, including predictions, team news and possible lineups.

China entertain the challenge of Palestine at the Dalian Barracuda Bay Football Stadium in an international friendly match up on Tuesday afternoon.

Both teams are on a good run of results across all competitions heading into this one, and we could be in for an open and end-to-end affair.

Match preview

China were far too strong for Myanmar as they cruised to a routine 4-0 victory when the teams locked horns at the Suoyuwan Stadium on Friday.

Aleksandar Jankovic's men strolled to a two-goal lead thanks to strikes from Elkeson and Lin Liangming after which Wu Lei grabbed a second-half double to seal the deal.

As a result, the Dragon's Team are now unbeaten and yet to concede a goal in four of their last five outings, highlighting their efficiency at both ends of the pitch.

Up next is the task of facing off against an opposing outfit still looking for their first win in this fixture having drawn the last two encounters since a defeat in the maiden edition.

Following consecutive wins on home turf by a combined score of 5-0, Tuesday's hosts will back themselves to put on another impressive display in front of their fans.

Palestine played out a goalless stalemate against Indonesia in Wednesday's clash involving the sides at the Gelora Bung Tomo Stadium.

Despite being on the back foot for large spells of the match, Makram Daboub's men held firm to come away with a share of the spoils in East Java.

While the Lions of Canaan saw their winning run come to an end, they managed to extend their unbeaten run to five matches since the start of 2022.

Having now avoided defeat in three straight away games for the first time in four years, Tuesday's hosts have turned a corner on the road and will be full of confidence ahead of their trip to Dalian.

Team News

Off the back of his impressive two-goal haul last time out, Wu Lei will be looking to deliver the goods for China once again in this one.

Zhang Linpeng made his 95th appearance for the home side against Myanmar, moving him a step closer to racking up a century of international caps.

With 12 Palestine goals to his name, Tamer Seyam has netted more times for his country than any other active player and needs just two more strikes to move joint-top of the scoring chart.

Rami Hamadeh boasts four clean sheets from his last five outings for the away side, which should see him fend off any competition from Tawfiq Ali between the sticks.

China possible starting lineup:
Yan; Gao, Browning, Zhang; Yang, Wang, Xu, Sun; Wu, Lin, Elkeson

Palestine possible starting lineup:
Hamadi; Jondi, Hamed, Saleh, Farawi; Rashid, Jaber; Abu Warda, Seyam; Wadi, Yameen

We say: China 3-1 Palestine

Given the plethora of attacking talent on display, we can see both sides getting on the scoresheet. That said, China boast the better squad on paper, and with the added advantage of playing on home turf, we are backing them to emerge victorious.
