Espanyol see off Real Valladolid

Espanyol return to winning ways in La Liga thanks to a 4-2 victory at home to Real Valladolid.

Espanyol have picked up their first win in three matches in La Liga with a comfortable 4-2 victory over Real Valladolid at home.

The hosts took the lead with just five minutes on the clock as Sergio Garcia scored from the penalty spot following a foul on Christian Stuani.

Stuani then doubled Espanyol's advantage eight minutes before half time by clipping the ball past the onrushing Valladolid goalkeeper.

It was 3-0 on 68 minutes as Victor Sanchez found the top corner, while Stuani netted for the second time soon after when he converted Sanchez's cross from close range.

Valladolid pulled two goals back late on through Javi Guerra and Victor Perez, but they were not enough to stop the visitors from suffering their third defeat in four matches.
