Half-Time Report: Dynamo Kiev take advantage over Everton in Europa League

Dynamo Kiev are leading Everton in their Europa League clash after a frantic first half.

Dynamo Kiev hold a slender aggregate advantage over Everton after a frantic first half in the Ukraine capital.

The home side pressurised the Everton defence immediately, with both Oleg Gusev and Antunes recording shots that failed to trouble Tim Howard in goal.

Andriy Yarmolenko opened the scoring with a stunning finish, cutting in from the right before unleashing a whipped effort into the top corner, leaving Howard helpless.

Ross Barkley almost equalised for Everton but his strike hit the post, and moments later, Howard produced a stunning save from Yarmolenko.

Romelu Lukaku's curling effort levelled matters for the Toffees, with the Belgian finding space outside the box before side-footing his strike beyond Olexandr Shovkovskiy's grasp.

Two goals in quick succession gave the home side control, with both Lukasz Teodorczyk and Miguel Veloso capitalising on poor Everton defending on both occasions.

As it stands, Kiev will go through thanks to a one-goal lead on aggregate.
