Half-Time Report: Ross McCormack and Shaun Hutchinson put Fulham ahead

Fulham lead Sheffield Wednesday at half time at Craven Cottage through Ross McCormack's 25-yard free kick and Shaun Hutchinson's header.

Ross McCormack's free kick and Shaun Hutchinson's first home goal for Fulham have given them a 2-0 lead in their Championship clash with Sheffield Wednesday at Craven Cottage this afternoon.

The home side started brightly and could have had the lead on seven minutes when McCormack fired a free kick into the Sheffield Wednesday box. Nikolay Bodurov climbed highest to meet it, but the Bulgarian defender headed his effort just over the top of goal.

Bodurov was then involved at the other end as he reacted quickly to make crucial blocks from Christopher Maguire and Tom Lees following a Wednesday corner.

Fulham could have been ahead on 15 minutes when McCormack played in Lasse Vigen Christensen, who rounded Kieren Westwood, only to see his goal-bound effort hacked off the line by Lees.

Lewis McGugan curled a free kick inches wide of the target for the Owls on 26 minutes, before Kit Symons' men took the lead 10 minutes later through McCormack's curling 25-yard free kick.

Hutchinson then nodded home from Bryan Ruiz's inviting set piece on the stroke of the break to strengthen their half-time position.
