Borussia Monchengladbach earn victory at Greuther Furth

Borussia Monchengladbach seal their first win in five Bundesliga matches with a 4-2 victory at struggling Greuther Furth.

Borussia Monchengladbach have earned their first win in five Bundesliga matches with a 4-2 victory at struggling Greuther Furth.

The hosts went ahead through Bernd Nehrig's penalty on 10 minutes following Oscar Wendt's foul on Gerald Asamoah but they were soon reduced to 10 men as Thomas Kleine was shown a straight red card against his former club for a reckless challenge on Patrick Herrmann.

Wendt then headed in midway through the first half to draw Monchengladbach level before Edgar Prib fired in on 43 minutes to give Greuther the half-time lead.

Martin Stranzl nodded in Mike Hanke's cross five minutes after the restart to draw the away side level again and the turnaround was complete soon after when Herrmann converted.

Greuther were down to nine men in injury time as Milorad Pekovic was given a second yellow card for handball in the area, which gave Thorben Marx the opportunity to fire home from the spot.
