Team News: Michael Dawson makes first Hull start of season

Michael Dawson makes his first start of the season for Hull City as they welcome Stoke City.

Michael Dawson makes his first start of the season for Hull City as they welcome Stoke City to the KCOM Stadium this afternoon.

The skipper is back in the Tigers' back four after recovering from a long-term knee injury in one of three changes from manager Mike Phelan following the side's 6-1 humiliation at Bournemouth a week ago.

David Meyler also returns to the defence, with Andy Robertson out with a calf injury and Harry Maguire relegated to the bench.

Shaun Maloney also makes way as Tom Huddlestone returns at defensive midfield.

For the visiting Potters, manager Mark Hughes keeps faith with the XI that claimed a 2-0 victory over Sunderland last weekend, with Joe Allen, Marko Arnautovic and Xherdan Shaqiri providing attacking support for Wilfried Bony up front.

Stoke City: Grant; Bardsley, Shawcross, M.Indi, Pieters; Whelan, Cameron; Shaqiri, Allen, Arnautovic; Bony
