Preview: Ipswich Town vs. Queens Park Rangers

Sports Mole previews Saturday's top-of-the-table Championship clash between sixth-placed Ipswich and third-placed QPR.

Ipswich Town will be looking to return to winning ways when they host Queens Park Rangers at Portman Road on Saturday.

Ipswich have drawn their last three matches 1-1, including being forced into a replay against Preston North End in the FA Cup third round in their latest outing.

The Tractor Boys are currently enjoying a long unbeaten streak, however, with Mick McCarthy aiming to make it 10 games without a loss this weekend.

If they can claim all three points then they would remain in the playoff positions, unless Brighton & Hove Albion were to win by three more goals than them.

Town are unbeaten in their last five home matches and have only lost in front of their own fans on three occasions this season.

The hosts do not have any injury concerns and are expected to name David McGoldrick up front with Paul Taylor on the bench.

QPR are slowly slipping further behind the top spot in the league, with the gap between them and leaders Leicester City now sitting at five points after some poor results.

Harry Redknapp's men have only won one of their last five matches in all competitions, failing to score in four of those games while conceding nine goals.

The veteran manager will need to pick his side up after their heavy 4-0 defeat at the hands of Everton in the FA Cup last weekend, and a swift return to winning ways could see them return to the top two.

QPR have only won once on their travels in their last nine games in all competitions and have failed to score in their last three.

Charlie Austin will be the man charged with ending that drought as he is expected to start up front alone, but Alejandro Faurlin and Julio Cesar are both out for the visitors.
