Sheffield United have confirmed that they have secured the loan services of Leicester City midfielder Dean Hammond.
The 32-year-old made just 12 Premier League appearances for the Foxes last term, while his only outing this season came in the League Cup against Bury.
As a result, the former Southampton and Brighton & Hove Albion player has been granted permission to sign on at Bramall Lane until January.
"Dean is a fantastic professional. He was my captain at Southampton when we won promotion to the Championship and Premiership and he has enjoyed success with Brighton and Leicester," manager Nigel Adkins told the club's official website.
"I cannot speak highly enough of him as a player and a person. He sets high standards both on and off the pitch and after waiting for the right person. We are delighted that we can bring Dean into this football club."
The paperwork has been completed in time for Hammond to make his debut for the Blades against Fleetwood Town this evening.
