Liverpool team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Burnley

Sports Mole rounds up all of Liverpool's injury and suspension news ahead of Saturday's Premier League clash with Burnley.

Liverpool will endeavour to build on their opening-day success over Norwich City when they return to Anfield for Saturday's Premier League clash with Burnley in gameweek two.

Jurgen Klopp's men once again provided another goal-laden performance on the opening day to run out 3-0 winners at Carrow Road, with Diogo Jota, Roberto Firmino and Mohamed Salah on the scoresheet.

The Reds now gear up for their first Premier League game of the 2021-22 season at Anfield, where the returning contingent of supporters will expect no less than a second win from two matches as they bid to sustain a title charge.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up all of Liverpool's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the contest.

Status: Out
Type of injury: Ankle
Possible return date: Unknown

Andy Robertson sustained damage to ankle ligaments during a pre-season friendly with Athletic Bilbao and will spend the next couple of weeks recuperating, but Klopp is unsure whether the left-back will be fit to return before the international break.

Curtis Jones

Possible return date: August 21 (vs. Burnley)

Curtis Jones sustained a concussion against Osasuna in pre-season and was not involved against Norwich due to protocol. However, Klopp has affirmed that the youngster is feeling fine and should be available for selection on Saturday.

Thiago Alcantara

Thiago Alcantara was playing catch-up during the final week of pre-season and was not deemed fit enough to play at Carrow Road, but the Spaniard will hope to come into contention for the visit of Burnley.

Jordan Henderson

Jordan Henderson did earn some minutes against Osasuna in his side's final game of pre-season but was nowhere to be seen during gameweek one. However, the Reds skipper should build up enough fitness to at least make the bench on Saturday.
