Sports Mole rounds up Liverpool's latest injury and suspension news ahead of Saturday's Premier League clash with Tottenham Hotspur.

Liverpool will look to continue their relentless march towards claiming the Premier League title when they travel to face Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.

Jurgen Klopp's men find themselves 13 points clear of closest challengers Leicester City and have a game in hand, with last week's 2-0 win over Sheffield United marking a calendar year since Liverpool last lost in the league.

However, they will be conscious of the threat carried by Jose Mourinho's Spurs, who will be desperate to produce a big performance following a string of poor results.

Dejan Lovren

Lovren has been sidelined for a month with a thigh problem, and Klopp has stressed that the club would be patient with reintroducing him to the squad.

Klopp will hope to see the defensive midfielder, who has been excellent this term, recover quickly from an ankle problem that ruled him out of the Christmas period.


Joel Matip

Possible return date: January 11 (vs. Tottenham Hotspur)

Matip has been sidelined with a knee problem for almost two months, although Klopp indicated recently that the Cameroon international was nearing a return to action.


Xherdan Shaqiri

Much like Matip, Shaqiri has been sidelined over the Christmas period but has an outside chance of returning to the bench for the meeting with Spurs this weekend.

Keita has often struggled with groin issues since moving to Anfield, and his current affliction is certain to keep him out of this game, although he is not expected to be sidelined for long.

Milner only lasted nine minutes of Liverpool's meeting with Everton over the weekend, with Klopp noting after the game that the veteran had sustained a "serious" muscle injury.


Nathaniel Clyne

Clyne remains Liverpool's only long-term absentee having sustained ligament damage over pre-season. The player is not expected to return until March at the earliest.
