Team News: Sadio Mane returns for Liverpool

Sadio Mane returns from injury ahead of schedule for Liverpool's Premier League clash with West Ham United at the London Stadium.

Liverpool have named Sadio Mane in their starting lineup for this afternoon's Premier League trip to face West Ham United at the London Stadium.

The winger was initially expected to be sidelined for six weeks with a hamstring injury he sustained during the last international break, but his return comes two weeks ahead of schedule.

Mane had been rumoured to be fit enough for a place on the bench this afternoon, but he is surprisingly included from the start as one of three changes made to the side that beat Maribor in midweek.

Simon Mignolet and Joe Gomez also return to the fold, while there is a first Premier League start in Liverpool colours for Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain having also made his full Champions League debut for the club in midweek.

Georginio Wijnaldum has recovered from an ankle injury to start in midfield, but captain Jordan Henderson misses out with a thigh injury while Dejan Lovren remains sidelined with a similar problem.

West Ham, meanwhile, are able to welcome Winston Reid and Pedro Obiang back into the side to ease their defensive worries, with Pablo Zabaleta suspended for this one and Sam Byram, Jose Fonte and James Collins all injured.

Michail Antonio also misses out with a hamstring problem, but Aaron Cresswell has overcome a dead leg to start in a Hammers side which shows just two changes from their 2-2 draw with Crystal Palace last weekend.

Andy Carroll is forced to settle for a place on the bench against his former club as Javier Hernandez and Andre Ayew - the latter of whom has three goals in his last two games for the club - continue up front.

West Ham United: Hart; Kouyate, Reid, Ogbonna; Fernandes, Noble, Obiang, Lanzini, Cresswell; Ayew, Hernandez
Subs: Adrian, Rice, Masuaku, Haksabanovic, Arnautovic, Carroll, Sakho

Liverpool: Mignolet; Gomez, Matip, Klavan, Moreno; Can, Wijnaldum, Oxlade-Chamberlain; Salah, Mane, Firmino
Subs: Karius, Alexander-Arnold, Lovren, Milner, Grujic, Sturridge, Solanke
