Liverpool reportedly receive a boost in their pursuit of Porto attacking midfielder Otavio, whose agent has given the green light for a move to Anfield.

Liverpool have reportedly been handed a boost in their attempts to sign Porto's Otavio, whose agent has given the green light for a move to Anfield.

The Brazilian attacking midfielder is said to be Jurgen Klopp's target to replace Georginio Wijnaldum, who left Liverpool to join Paris Saint-Germain earlier this summer.

Otavio has proved to be a versatile player for Porto, playing in six different positions across midfield and in attacking positions during his 46 appearances last season.

According to The Mirror, Otavio's release clause increased from £34m to £51.5m at the start of this month, but the Portuguese outfit are believed to be willing to accept less than that.

When asked about his client's future, agent Israel Oliveira told A Bola: "If it is good for Porto and for Otavio."

Otavio joined Porto in 2014 and, after graduating from their B team into the senior squad, he has gone on to score 19 goals and provide 49 assists in 188 games for the club.
