Real Madrid and Manchester City are locked at 0-0 at half time of their Champions League fixture.

Real Madrid and Manchester City could not be separated in the first half of their Champions League tie this evening, going into the break locked at 0-0.

The hosts had the first chance of the match after less than ten minutes when Cristiano Ronaldo skipped past Vincent Kompany before unleashing a goalbound strike, only to see it tipped past the post by Joe Hart.

Hart came to his side's rescue once again soon after, again denying Ronaldo, whose shot took a slight deflection off Gonzalo Higuain on the way through.

Madrid's dominance continued but they still couldn't find a way past Hart as he saved from Higuain, before Ronaldo set up Sami Khedira for the rebound, but the midfielder put his effort over from six yards.

City enjoyed their first chance of the half in the 38th minute when Yaya Toure went on a trademark run, but his pass to David Silva was poor and the Spaniard was crowded out.

Just a minute later Madrid missed another gilt-edged opportunity to take the lead when Angel Di Maria's cross found Higuain, but the Argentine could only volley over from five yards with the last chance of the half.
