How Manchester United could line up against Wolverhampton Wanderers

Sports Mole looks at how Manchester United could line up in Tuesday night's Premier League clash with Wolverhampton Wanderers.

Manchester United will be looking to make it back-to-back Premier League wins when they travel to Molineux to face Wolverhampton Wanderers on Tuesday night.

United beat Watford 2-1 at the weekend to move into the top four, but they have since dropped to fifth position in the table following Arsenal's 2-0 win over Newcastle United.

The Red Devils would return to the Champions League positions with a victory on Tuesday, however, and revenge might well be on the minds of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's side. Indeed, it is just over two weeks since United suffered a 2-1 defeat at Wolves in the quarter-finals of the FA Cup.

Last season's Championship winners are enjoying a terrific campaign and currently sit seventh in the table, but they will enter this match off the back of a 2-0 defeat at Burnley on Saturday afternoon.

Here, Sports Mole takes a look at how Solskjaer's side could line up against Wolves.

POSS UTD XI vs. WOL

Out: Matteo Darmian (unknown), Alexis Sanchez (knee), Eric Bailly (head), Antonio Valencia (fitness)

Solskjaer revealed that Victor Lindelof did not play against Watford due to the fact that the Sweden international "had a couple of things to sort out". The 24-year-old is available for the trip to Wolves, though, and is expected to return to the XI.

Phil Jones impressed alongside Chris Smalling against the Hornets, but the Englishman's injury problems this season mean that it is unlikely he will play twice in the space of three days.

Anthony Martial is also available after shaking off the knock that he picked up against Javi Gracia's side, but the Frenchman could be left on the bench despite scoring at the weekend.

Solskjaer has plenty of decisions to make in the final third, with Romelu Lukaku - four goals in his last three league appearances - tipped to return, while the recent news surrounding Ander Herrera could see Fred, Andreas Pereira or Scott McTominay come into the midfield.

Jesse Lingard is also expected to return to the side, while Marcus Rashford will be looking to build on his strong performance against Watford last time out.

Matteo Darmian, Alexis Sanchez, Antonio Valencia and Eric Bailly are all still on the sidelines for the 20-time English champions, who have a Champions League quarter-final with Barcelona on the horizon.
