FC Dallas hint at Bastian Schweinsteiger move

FC Dallas chief Dan Hunt hints that the MLS club could move for Manchester United's unwanted midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger.

FC Dallas chief Dan Hunt has claimed that the MLS club could move for Manchester United's Bastian Schweinsteiger.

The experienced German midfielder joined Man United from Bayern Munich in the summer of 2015 and made 31 appearances for the Red Devils during his first season in English football.

The 32-year-old has been omitted from the squad under Jose Mourinho, however, and it is understood that the World Cup winner will look for a way out at the start of 2017.

According to Hunt, Dallas were looking to fill their designated spot with a striker, but could move for Schweinsteiger if they are given encouragement that a deal could be completed.

"He is an incredible player," Hunt told reporters. "I always admired him and the success that his teams had. That is no coincidence, he is a winner. At the moment we only have space for one designated player and we wanted to fill this with a striker. Maybe it changes, we will see."

Dallas, who were founded in 1995, currently sit top of the MLS Western Conference on 53 points.
