Juventus are in pole position to sign Manchester United forward Jadon Sancho on loan in January, according to a report.

Juventus are reportedly in pole position to sign Manchester United forward Jadon Sancho on loan when the January transfer window opens for business.

The 23-year-old has not played for the Red Devils since coming off the bench in their 3-2 win over Nottingham Forest in the Premier League at the end of August.

Sancho was a notable absentee from the squad that took on Arsenal in the league on September 3, and Man United head coach Erik ten Hag said after the clash at the Emirates Stadium that the attacker had been left out due to some poor performances in training.

Sancho took to social media later in the evening to insist that was not the case, claiming that he had been made "a scapegoat" at the club.

The ex-Manchester City youngster has not featured since, missing the Premier League games against Brighton & Hove Albion, Burnley, Crystal Palace and Brentford, in addition to both of the team's Champions League group-stage fixtures and the EFL Cup contest with Palace.

Sancho is said to be refusing to apologise to Ten Hag, and the Man United head coach is unlikely to back down, so it appears that the forward will leave when the winter transfer window opens.

A number of clubs have been linked with the Englishman, including his former club Borussia Dortmund, but Juventus are allegedly at the head of the queue to sign him on loan in January.

According to Sport, the Italian giants are best-placed at this moment in time despite suggestions that Barcelona are also keen on his services.

The report claims that the Catalan outfit will not move for Sancho at the start of 2024 unless there is a significant departure in the final third of the field.

However, Barcelona are said to be attentive to the situation and could make an attempt to sign him permanently next summer.

Sancho's 'total crisis' at Man United allegedly means that he 'will have to leave', with the club fully behind their manager when it comes to the situation.

Ex-Red Devils forward Louis Saha has hit out at Sancho's conduct, claiming that the forward will need to "fix himself" in order to save his career.

The Englishman made a high-profile move to Old Trafford from Dortmund in the summer of 2021, but he has found it difficult to make his mark.

Sancho has only managed 12 goals and six assists in 82 appearances for Man United, but any permanent departure is complicated by the fact that he still has another three years left to run on his deal.
