Former Arsenal striker Kevin Campbell believes that the Gunners should cough up the money to sign Borussia Dortmund's Jude Bellingham.

Former Arsenal striker Kevin Campbell has urged the Gunners to join the race for highly-rated Borussia Dortmund starlet Jude Bellingham.

The 18-year-old has established himself as a mainstay of the BVB setup since arriving from Birmingham City last year but is already being linked with a move back to his homeland.

Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool are all being tipped to move for Bellingham - who could command a nine-figure sum - but Campbell believes that Arsenal should seriously consider a bid.

When asked about a possible swoop for Bellingham on Highbury End, Campbell said: "Why not? This young man was at Birmingham, just up the M6.

"Nobody took the chance and he had to go to Dortmund. If we have to pay the money, and if we want somebody to be in [the midfield] for years to come, we've got to pay the money."

Bellingham already boasts two goals and five assists from 11 games in all tournaments this season, but he was not included in the England squad for October's World Cup qualifiers.
