Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United are reportedly set to battle it out to secure the signature of Inter Milan defender Diego Godin.
The 34-year-old joined the Italian outfit after nine years at Atletico Madrid but has failed to make a lasting impression in Italy since his arrival.
Godin reportedly snubbed the Red Devils when Jose Mourinho was in the dugout two years ago, but according to The Mirror, the Spurs manager is set to make a second attempt at landing the centre-back.
With uncertainty surrounding Jan Vertonghen's current situation, the report claims that Mourinho is looking to shore up his defence in the near future.
Having established a reputation as one of the world's leading centre-backs over the past few years, United are supposedly set to revive their interest in Godin, with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer reportedly keen to add the experienced Uruguayan to his ranks.
Godin's current deal at San Siro will expire in 2022.
