Half-Time Report: Middlesbrough in control at the Riverside

Middlesbrough hold a comfortable 2-0 half-time lead over Norwich City at the Riverside Stadium.

High-flying Middlesbrough hold a commanding 2-0 lead over Norwich City thanks to goals from Patrick Bamford and Grant Leadbitter.

Aitor Karanka's side carved out an early opening when Lee Tomlin's clever ball found Ryan Fredericks, but the on-loan Tottenham Hotspur defender lashed his shot high over the Norwich City goal.

However, Middlesbrough took the lead on five minutes when the returning Albert Adomah swung in a cross from the left that was headed beyond John Ruddy by Bamford.

Leadbitter then doubled his side's lead from the penalty spot after George Friend had been brought down by Russell Martin just after the half-hour mark.

Bamford nearly made it three minutes later after a mazy run by Kike but could only fire over when well placed.
