Real Madrid team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Elche

Sports Mole rounds up Real Madrid's injury and suspension news ahead of their La Liga clash with Elche.

Real Madrid will be looking to return to winning ways in La Liga when they continue their campaign with a trip to Elche on Saturday afternoon.

Carlo Ancelotti's side were held to a goalless draw by Osasuna on Wednesday night, but the result was enough to see them reclaim first position in Spain's top flight.

The capital giants will now be eyeing a seventh league victory of the 2021-22 season against an Elche side that currently occupy 15th position in the table, with 10 points to show from their 11 matches.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up all of Real Madrid's injury and suspension news ahead of the contest at Estadio Manuel Martínez Valero.

Gareth Bale

Status: Out
Type of injury: Hamstring
Possible return date: November 6 (vs. Rayo Vallecano)

Gareth Bale remains unavailable for selection due to the hamstring injury that he picked up ahead of the clash with Celta Vigo on September 12, but the Wales international could return in early November.

Luka Modric

Status: Minor doubt
Type of injury: Muscle
Possible return date: October 30 (vs. Elche)

Luka Modric was a late withdrawal from the squad against Osasuna due to muscle fatigue, and the experienced midfielder remains a minor doubt for this weekend's contest.

Dani Ceballos

Status: Out
Type of injury: Ankle
Possible return date: Unknown

Dani Ceballos sustained an ankle injury while on duty with Spain during the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and is not yet close to making his return for Ancelotti's side.

Isco

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Back
Possible return date: October 30 (vs. Elche)

A back problem forced Isco to miss the clash with Espanyol earlier this month, and the Spaniard has been absent since, also missing out against Osasuna, so he remains a major doubt for this match.

Federico Valverde

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Federico Valverde is facing a period on the sidelines with the knee problem that he suffered in El Clasico, but it is currently unclear how much football the Uruguay international will miss.
