Real Madrid team news: Injury, suspension list vs. Valencia

Sports Mole rounds up Real Madrid's injury and suspension news ahead of Sunday's La Liga clash with Valencia.

Real Madrid will be looking to make it three La Liga victories in a row when they continue their 2020-21 campaign away to Valencia on Sunday night.

Los Blancos have won their last two in the league against Barcelona and Huesca to sit second in the table, one point behind leaders Real Sociedad with a game in hand.

Zinedine Zidane's side will also enter the match off the back of a vitally important 3-2 victory over Italian giants Inter Milan in the Champions League on Tuesday night.

Here, Sports Mole rounds up Madrid's latest injury and suspension news ahead of the clash with Valencia, who have struggled for form in recent weeks.

Dani Carvajal

Status: Out
Type of injury: Knee
Possible return date: Unknown

Dani Carvajal is expected to spend the next three to four weeks on the sidelines recovering from a knee injury, with the Spaniard damaging his medial collateral ligament during a training session. As a result, the right-back is unlikely to make his first-team return until the early stages of December.

Alvaro Odriozola

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Calf
Possible return date: November 8 (vs. Valencia)

Alvaro Odriozola has missed Madrid's last seven matches with a calf injury that he picked up during a training session in October. The issue has kept the defender out longer than expected, but he could make his return in Sunday's La Liga clash with Valencia.

Martin Odegaard

Status: Major doubt
Type of injury: Calf
Possible return date: November 8 (vs. Valencia)

Madrid were again without the services of Martin Odegaard against Inter due to a calf injury, but the Norway international underwent some light jogging exercises alongside his teammates at the weekend and could potentially be involved against Valencia.

Nacho

Status: Out
Type of injury: Thigh
Possible return date: November 21 (vs. Villarreal)

Nacho is currently on the sidelines with the thigh problem that he picked up against Barcelona last month. The versatile defender is not expected to return to the field until after the international break.

Eder Militao

Status: Out
Type of injury: Coronavirus
Possible return date: Unknown

Madrid will again be without the services of Eder Militao this weekend as the Brazilian centre-back tested positive for coronavirus ahead of the Inter clash and is now in self-isolation.

Eden Hazard

Status: Out
Type of injury: Coronavirus
Possible return date: November 21 (vs. Villarreal)

Eden Hazard will be unavailable for selection this weekend, having tested positive for coronavirus, but the Belgium international could return for the clash with Villarreal on November 21.

Casemiro

Possible return date: November 21 (vs. Villarreal)

Like Hazard, Casemiro also returned a positive test for coronavirus during the latest round of results on Friday, and the Brazil international will also not be available against Valencia.

Madrid do not have any suspension issues for the league contest.
